You’re Not Selling Because You’re Not Solving a Real Problem

Until your product clearly solves a real, felt problem for a specific person, it will always be harder to sell.

So you created a product. You posted it. You shared it with your friends.

But no one’s buying. Why?

It’s frustrating, especially when you know your product looks great and is packed with value.

But here’s what many creatives miss:

  • People don’t buy design!

  • They buy solutions!

Until your product clearly solves a real, felt problem for a specific person, it will always be harder to sell.

Design Isn’t the Selling Point... The Outcome Is

Let’s say you sell a Canva template. If your audience hears “editable Canva template,” they might scroll past.

But if they hear:

  • “Save 5 hours a week with this ready-to-use social media pack for coaches.”

  • “Launch your client’s brand faster with this plug-and-play brand board template.”

Now, it’s about a result. That’s what people buy!

If Your Product Isn’t Selling, Ask:

1. Who is this really for?

Is your message too broad? “For business owners” is vague.

Try narrowing it to something like “for new service-based solopreneurs” or “for overwhelmed virtual assistants.”

2. What specific pain or goal does it speak to?

Are you helping someone save time, avoid stress, look more professional, or make more money?

3. Are you explaining it clearly?

Skip jargon. Be direct.

If your dream customer only reads the first line of your post or page, would they immediately get what your product does?

Sell the Problem, Not Just the Product

You don’t have to change your product, but you may need to change your message. When you start talking about the problem it solves, the right people start paying attention. Need help getting clear? Start with the 1 Page Product Planner.
